Rare & Homestead Breeds of Pigs
Kune Kune Pigs
Kune Kune pigs are a wonderful type of pig originally found in New Zealand. These pigs are known for their laid back and friendly personality. Unlike other pigs, Kune Kune are grazers and not foragers so you can keep them in grass lots and they don't tend to root the ground much. In the 70's these guys faced extinction with only having about 20 left but through the hard work of dedicated people, these guys are no longer at risk of extinction. These guys along with their favorite pig pellets love getting fresh fruits and veggies in their diets. They are very intelligent animals and very sweet.
